Completed homecare maintenance for a single system home. Tested heat and cool from thermostat. Found inside the Plenum and ductwork is extremely dirty with dust/dirt, along with the blower wheel. Some insulation is falling off the ducks and little to no insulation in the attic itself. The pipe is single wall, flue, taped up, and the double wall through the roof is cut and not secured. No flood protection is installed at all on the system. No filter rack or filter grill to properly. Hold the filter. Tested refrigerator levels and found the pressures fluctuating badly, and a smell of burnt oil and refrigerant. The outdoor unit is not fully wired up as a heat pump, condenser coils are dirty along with deteriorated coil due to urine from an animal. Armor flakes line insulation is deteriorated and no locking caps installed. Due to refrigerant issues we suspect that the coil in the attic still has a piston for R22 refrigerant even though the outdoor unit is 410A. Based on our findings today

Customer has 4 y/o 3-zone Goodman system that operates for whole house. System is not cooling properly due to loss of refrigerant caused by bad evaporator coil. Informed customer of findings. The bare minimum basic repairs to get the system running today. Charged 3 lbs. of 410A refrigerant to system. Pressure levels are now regulated. Customer also decided to move forward with warranty evaporator coil replacement. Must return once coil is ordered and picked up for replacement.
